I would like to book a villa, what is the simplest way to do so?

To simply reserve a villa you can send an inquiry. Go to the villa’s profile page, select the dates you would like to book, click on “send inquiry” and fill out the form. You can also contact us on the home page or by email or phone and tell us your preferred destination, dates, the amount of people traveling, and if you have any special requests. We can then help you and offer more suitable alternatives that fit your wishes.

How do I pay my booking and when do I have to pay?

You can pay with your debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Paypal. The deposit payment (30% of the total cost) must be paid at the time of booking and the booking will be confirmed only after the deposit payment has been made. The balance payment (the remaining 70% of the total cost) must be paid no later than 4 weeks before your arrival at the villa. Detailed booking and payment terms can be found at the bottom of our website.

Who owns the villas? Are there other people living in the villa during our stay?

The owner is often a local person living in the area / country or in many cases abroad. When you rent a villa or an apartment, it is at your and your travel group’s exclusive disposal. In some homes, the owner or caretaker lives in a neighbouring house, and they can help you with your questions and give local tips for your holiday. If this is the case, it is stated on the villa’s profile page.

Are all villas for large groups, or do you offer smaller places for couples or hotels?

We do not only provide large villas. In some of the villas it is possible to rent only one room, and you do not need to rent the whole villa. We also offer small houses and apartments that are ideal for couples and smaller groups. Also, you can book your hotel with us.

Can Greek.Holiday help me book a transfer from the airport to the villa or rent a car?

Through our customer service it is possible to get help with airport transfers as well as other services in the villa.

In many cities we work with several reliable car rentals so we can help you rent a car at the best possible rates. Please ask us for more information.

Is it safe to book?

YES. Greek Summer   has its main office in Greece (Chania), and we are careful to examine the quality of the villas. We have been certified by the Greek Authoties. This is our unique number…. We guarantee a secure booking process and our multilingual customer service team is available before, during and after your trip. You can always email or call us if you have any questions or concerns. In the summer of 2018 more than 3000 people spent their holiday in one of our properties.

Do I always rent the villa for a week from Saturday to Saturday, or are other rental periods possible?

During the peak season from July to August, in many cases the villas are rented out from Saturday to Saturday, and the minimum rental period is 7 days, but of course we have villas that do not have this as mandatory. Please refer to each listing individually, and if its not stated please feel free to ask.

Outside of the peak months, for all villas the rental period can be more flexible and you can ask about the different dates when booking. For hotels, there is a complete flexibility.

A good and proven alternative that we can recommend is to book a hotel (please check our available hotels on the site) for one or two nights if it would be that your flight times do not match with the villa’s rental period.

What is the cleaning fee for?

Final cleaning is always mandatory in properties, and in some villas the final cleaning is included in the price. Some of the villas charge an additional fee for cleaning and this is then specified on the villa’s profile page.

What do we do when it’s time to go home and leave the villa?

At the end of your stay you will check the villa together with the owner or responsible villa staff on site. If the villa is in good condition, the security deposit you paid on arrival will be refunded to you. If the deposit was paid in cash you get the amount back immediately, and if you paid with a credit card the deposit will be returned within approximately 1-3 weeks.

Does the villa have a parking space?

The availability of parking spaces is different from villa to villa. If the villa has a private parking lot or a garage, it is stated on the villa’s profile page.

What time can we arrive to the villa?

The check-in time on the day of arrival is usually around 14:00 to 19:00 o’clock. However, during low season, most owners or villa managers on site are often flexible regarding the arrival time to the villa and can adapt after your schedule. The check-out time is usually before 10.00 am. The times can be flexible depending on when the previous and following tenant’s arrival and departure times and schedules. Be sure to communicate with the responsible villa staff so they know when you will arrive.

Where and how do we get the key to the villa?

Before arrival you will be in contact with the villa owner or the villa staff on site. They will guide you and answer questions regarding the practical details on arrival.

Where can I find the exact address of the villa?

You will receive the exact address and other important information regarding your arrival at the accommodation after you have paid your final balance payment. The villa’s exact location can also be requested before you book.

What is a tourist tax?

In some countries, travellers must pay a so-called tourist tax. This is a type of municipal tax, which is either included in the villa’s rental costs or paid in cash on site. Information about any tourist tax is stated on the villa’s profile page. Tourist tax amounts varies from place to place (from about 0.5 Euro / day or /person).

How do I know which type of additional costs that may be added to the booking?

Compulsory and optional costs are described on our website on each villa’s profile page. Any extra costs may, for example, be for final cleaning, the use of heating or special services, but these are always stated in advance on the profile page or in the booking information we send to you before you pay. Typical energy costs are included in the price, unless stated otherwise.

Do we need to bring our own bed linen and towels?

You do NOT need to bring any bed linen or towels, and the sheets and towels are almost always included in the price. Any exceptions are always stated on the villa’s profile page. An exception are the beach towels were are often not included.

Do I need to book a villa far in advance, or do you also have so-called last-minute alternatives?

You can absolutely book a villa on a short notice. But for the summer months (June to September) the villas are generally booked several months in advance so we recommend to book as early as possible for this time period. The earlier you book, the more options are available and you have a better opportunity to find an accommodation that meets your requirements.
